On the way towards universal donors
If your blood type is O-negative, you may feel a bit like a vampire's victim every time you volunteer to donate a pint...
A universal blood donor technology is now closer to market.

Oh, my goodness! I didn't think you were going to be blogging _Dracula_ this year, and I missed the whole thing. I'm so sorry! One of the great pleasures in my life is reading _Dracula_ in real time with other readers around the world. If you do it again in 2008, I promise that I'll be there.

It's great to see you again, B. Jinx. I don't know if I'll do it again next year.

I don't know how much effort it takes on your part. I once tried to "blog" _Dracula_ to alt.vampyres, and I quickly learned that it took nine months of dedicated effort. I was traveling for part of the time and had to stop at a library each day just so that I could post each day's entry. I hope you do it again. If so, I promise that I will hype it everywhere I can. Reading _Dracula_ in real time is a fantastic experience, and I'd like to see others drawn into it.

It's a bit of work, Baby J. It's easier than the first time, because the material is now in the blog.
Do you think we'd get enough commenting next time?

Hard to predict. You need a mix of both experienced and novice readers of _Dracula_, some to ask the questions, others to answer and to point out some of the unthought-of and/or unanswered questions. Finding these people is difficult, since Usenet is almost dead and most vampire-related websites either do not allow advertizing or you have to be a member in order to advertize a blog. Perhaps if there was a strong campaign starting in February to alert people to the blog, more readers could be drawn in. I'd be willing to announce it to places where my name is known.
