It is interesting that the thing that seems to finally confirm to Harker that D is not an ordinary living human is the lack of a reflection in the mirror. This particular belief or tradition has always puzzled me a bit. It seems to imply that D does not even exist physically but is merely some kind of psychic hallucination or something. After all, wouldn't anything physical--it wouldn't matter if it was living or dead--cast a reflection in a mirror?
