We haven't touched on book fetishes recently, so MetaFilter gladly takes a hand with a nice sketch of books bound in human skin. I love the genealogies attached to anthropodermic binding - they came from the French Revolution. Or from the Catholic-Protestant wars. Maybe they're the voice of harsh legal systems, or stern clinical judgement.
Well anthropodermic was certainly a new word for me today. I'm not so sure I couldn't have gone a few more years without knowing about this subject.
Now that I do know not real sure what I will do with the bit of knowledge. Thanks for making my world slightly wider.
