Catching up on polar music: DJ Spooky is releasing a movie about Antarctic sounds.
There's an interesting alternate history Soviet theme, as this penguin image suggests.
Previous polar posts: my original query (2005), a data jam, ancient polar music, Nordic Sounds, a prize, Ensemble Polaris, more, more, more, and still more.
I really like spooky....reminds me of a few mix-shows I did on college radio back in the mid to late 1980's.
The movie looks like The Residents' "Eskimo" album meets March Of The Penguins versus the global warming hysteria/delusion.

Saw Spooky talk recently, he mentioned this project. Also tangentially Werner Herzog's documentary about Antarctic researchers _Encounters At the End of the World_ is in theatrical release finally - I'll see in in early August.
