Couldn't have been the decade of ongoing, faceless, sterile wars we've had since 9/11. Or the increasingly shrill, partisan, us-vs-them mentality of 21st century politics. Or the commercialization of everything from classic mythology and fairy tales (Disney) to athletics (Nike, NCAA, Olympics).

Well said, Andy. ...and, alas, they are only n00bs when it comes to the tech. The fearsome digital media meme is, by now, quite practiced.

It's a weirdly limiting test, peter, showing short-term physical excitement after playing exciting games. Behavioral change is a very different thing.
