Der Spiegel discovers modern ghost towns and cities. Their perspective is nicely global, including China, the former USSR, the current United States, Cyprus, and Japan.
"These ghost towns make us wonder how long we will all be here," [Museum head Dr. Hans-Dieter Nägelke] said. "A thriving city can turn into a ghost town much faster than we imagine."
