Jonathan looks a bit vampire-like himself in that picture. I guess the idea is just that he has big circles under his eyes since he is exhausted from stress, fear, and the late nights--but the effect is that he looks like he is turning into a vampire himself. I hadn't thought of the Count having bare feet but I guess it makes sense when you think of it. The effect is much greater with Dracula so close to Jonathan.

What amazes me is that there are so many "Dracula" movies that do not include this magnificent scene. Coppola's does, of course, as did the Louis Jourdan. But not Lugosi and not Lee. The first one to do so, I think, was the Turkish movie in the early 1950s - "Drakula Istanbul'da". It's been a while since I have watched it, but I distinctly recall the Count climbing down a wall.

Although none of the film took place in Transylannia, the '79 Dracula with Langella has a wall crawling scene down the side of Seward's house as the Count makes his way to Mina

Is that the one where he looks into the window upside-down? I loved that scene...it was very eerie.
