Robin McKinley's Sunshine. Aside from being a really eelelcxnt vampire novel (and filled with baking), her first-person narration and worldbuilding are so casually perfect. The only downside is I find it difficult to pick apart because I keep getting sucked back into the story. But still, it's not only my favorite comfort novel but also a book that makes me want to experiment and try.
