Either Jonathan should have written “rectangular”, or the Count had to rest curled on his side!

However, when the Count is found in his box (25, 30 June), Jonathan sees both eyes and both corners of the mouth. So the Count was likely on his back in a rectangular box.

Good point about squares. I don't have the books to hand, but wonder if Stoker was thinking of some traveler's note.
