Most Significant

"I looked at [Lucy’s] throat just now as she lay asleep, and the tiny wounds seem not to have healed…Unless they heal within a day or two, I shall insist on the doctor seeing about them.”

What if Mina had found Lucy a doctor who did not have a connection with Van Helsing? Lucy’s last days may have been less distressing; she probably would not have been subjected to four painful blood transfusions, at least. She might even have recovered, as the blood transfusions themselves created significant additional risks.
