Most Significant

“…today I feel terribly weak and spiritless.”

Mina is normally more perceptive than this. The men are focussed on hunting down the Count and his boxes. Mina has more time to think, which is what she is the best at. Normally, she might have chalked up her fatigue to stress and late hours. However, she knows the Count owns Carfax, just next door to the asylum. After seeing Lucy’s neck injuries and learning about her exhaustion, it would be passing strange if she didn’t think of the Count and check her own neck every time she felt tired.

Was Mina concealing tell-tale marks on her neck? Or was she so worried and so exhausted that she was off her game?
