In a minor development for the Grokster case, but another nice datapoint for our uncanny internet project, the Christian Coalition has joined the fray. Their argument draws attention to not only the spread of child pornography and porn in general, but the threats to business. Also in the religion/sex/copyright/evil camp is a coalition of groups (Concerned Women for America, Morality in Media, Inc., etc), who filed a brief in support of MGM's suit. Some of them are willing to work with anyone, even the devils themselves, to clean up distributed computing:
Christian Coalition of America President, Roberta Combs said, "Christian Coalition will support any effort -- even by Hollywood -- if that effort results in eliminating child pornography and other types of pornography that are on the Internet today. We hope the Supreme Court rules for morality in America and against these file-sharing companies which contribute to the smut flooding America today."
We blogged Ed Felten's comments on a closely related point a few days ago.
