Polar music continued

Update on polar music: many thanks to fine comments, which have built up a serious amount of knowledge in a very short time.  The power of the blogosphere is demonstrated once more.

Based on a suggestion from music and library guru Hugh, who knows lots about this subject, I've fired up a wiki page on polar music to aggregate examples and thoughts on the topic.  I'm taking the liberty of adding some artists and projects from this blog's discussion.  Have at it!
