The New York Times ran an article last week (now safely hidden behind the archivewall) about pro-anorexia websites. The thrust of the piece seems to be: just how dangerous are these sites? It's another form of the evil web page meme, among other things.

Speaking as the husband of an anorexic, I have to say that this is one case in which the websites in question actually ARE evil. Or at least enormously destructive. The anonymity with which young girls can visit and "learn" from these sites is, anonymity inherent in the medium, is, unfortunately, a major contributor to their destructiveness.
