One key concept: intervention. Stuart is taking the critical theory idea of entering a domain to play with it, mess with it, make critique from its mechanisms:
A project informed by critical or satiric intent, possibly with explicit reference to some manifesto or theoretical claim.
A work of provocative, pedagogic, or exemplary value (e.g., given as open source).
Discussion has turned to mutation, recombination.
