Worries about computer gaming continue. We're at the cultural anxiety stage now. No sign of panic, yet.
China is restricting multiplayer gaming sessions to three hours apiece, according to a story linked from BoingBoing. And it's going to be software as well as policy, this October:
"This timing mechanism can prevent young people from becoming addicted to online games," Xiaowei Kou, the deputy director of the general administration of press and publication (GAPP), said during a press conference in Beijing.
Meanwhile, the American Psychological Association recommends that game companies cut down on violence. Representations of violence, that is.
