We've been looking at haunted phones as a subset of uncanny media for a while, and noted the rise of creepy cell phones. Now's there's a novel, Dead Lines, by Greg Bear, concerning mobiles which tap into the afterlife. Telephone as ouija board goes back to the Twilight Zone, but the augmented reality aspect (ghosts downloaded to RL) is a newer touch. I haven't read it yet, but Instapundit sounds spooked, and I like what hints the Amazon reviews emit.
(thanks, Jesse)
Have you read "At the Telephone" (http://gaslight.mtroyal.ab.ca/atteleph.htm), a short playlet written by Andre DeLorde for the Grand Guignol? Written in 1902, it's got to be one of the earliest examples of telephone gothic.
Since it plays on the false sense of security that communications technology provides, it cries out for a cell phone adaptation.

I have indeed, HP, and can cheerfully pass on the recommendation.
Hm... how about a radio play?
