An Alaskan teenager is going to trial for murder, and spooky media play a role. The alleged plotter is a blogger, as we noted last year. When you begin this Court TV account of it, the fact that she blogged seems almost as horrific as the lingering homicide of her mom. The article even dips into a bit of the West Memphis special, that wearing Goth apparel hints at murderous thinking.
Last year we asked "Is murderblogging a genre?" Seems to be, now. Or rather, blogging is widespread enough that some (alleged) killers will also be bloggers, and there's a powerful cultural allure to growing a link between the two.
(thanks for the tip, Jesse)
