Two of the severed feet which have washed onto Canada's western shore are from the same person, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. And they probably weren't cut off:
“There is no evidence that these feet have been severed. There were no tool marks and no visible signs of trauma,” Constable Annie Linteau told reporters.“
It appears that these feet have naturally disarticulated from the body.”
CBC thoughtfully provides a map:
And more feet have arrived... in Sweden.
Police in the Swedish resort town of Halmstad, about 500 kilometres southwest of Stockholm, said lifeguards spotted a shoe bobbing upside down in the surf a day earlier and decided to turn it over with a stick on Tuesday afternoon.
Has the mad art project gone worldwide? Or does the supervillain responsible simply prefer northern nations?
(thanks to Randy McCall)
Hmm...well I am not sure if this can be attributed to an in-progress Christo project, but one does wonder if it is indeed homicide or cadaver tampering.

I'm surprised that 2 of the feet belonged to the same man.. CNN goes onto to say that it was a right and left foot too.. interesting...

They need to be looking for a cemetary that is getting flooded. Seriously think about it. There are lots of people who are burried in running shoes. If the shoes were on feet that came off of a rotten body, then look for a flooding cemetary that the coffins are made out of wood. DUH!

Ha, Cristo, brilliant, @Dan!
It's like a big puzzle, @Djambalawa.
@carissa, could the cemetery be on the western shore of the Strait?
Oh, great catch, @Ed Webb.

I read yesterday that one of the feet has been identified as belonging to a man who disappeared over a year ago. I'll have to look for the cite...
