The awesome Jim Woodring has produced a full-length graphic novel, Weathercraft (Fantagraphics) This AV Club interview goes into some background.
Interesting discussion of text vs images without text, like:
why [did] you put so much explanatory text—and even a rundown of the cast of characters—on the dust jacket?
JW: I decided to put all that stuff on the dust jacket because there were really no words in the book. I thought it would be funny to have a book that was almost word-free and a dust jacket that was slathered in copy.
If you're a fan of Woodring's, you might want to stop by your local comic shop. He produced a free comic book for this year's free comic book day (1st Sat. in May), and your local shop may have a copy left (mine did when I was in there a few weeks ago).
