Or that's what some locals say. Sava Savanović was one of several Serb "historical vampires" - actual people whom others accused of vampirism. Long dead, the house he once lived in collapsed, inspiring neighbors to fear undead wandering.
Interestingly, old-school Savanovic apparently stalked peasants bringing grain to be milled. Reminds this writer of the final scene in Vampyr (1932).

New Jersey: when is it not Gothic? An emergency services worker was busted for alleged sex crimes against children, which turned out to have a gustatory flair, at least in theory:
On multiple occasions he and a man later charged with producing child pornography "discussed their mutual interest in kidnapping, raping, and eating children."
And if that isn't explicit enough, the former volunteer EMT "also admitted his interest in eroticized child cannibalism."

Some mysterious underwater sounds have just been explained. The deep, creepy "bloop" noises
are consistent with icequakes generated by large icebergs as they crack and fracture. NOAA hydrophones deployed in the Scotia Sea detected numerous icequakes with spectrograms very similar to “Bloop”.
Infocult has been immersed in underwater Gothic for years.

The EyeSee looks ordinary enough on the outside, with its slender polystyrene frame, blank face and improbable pose. Inside, it’s no dummy. A camera embedded in one eye feeds data into facial-recognition software like that used by police. It logs the age, gender, and race of passers-by.

One man, walking along a route, came upon a smallish lake. It was set into a round ravine in the mountains, with steep slopes heading down into it on all sides. It looked like water had collected in the bottom of a huge bowl. The slopes were navigable, and so the man made his way down to the lake - and discovered it was full of skeletons. Hundreds of bodies lay below the surface.
The remains date back more than one thousand years. The best theory about why they rest there - in a very remote location - is that they belonged to religious pilgrims ambushed by... fierce hail.
Other explanations can leap to the Gothic mind. Ambush by rival sect, for instance, or mass sacrifice.
The world has been Gothic for a long time. Only now has it becomed Infocult.
