An unusual perfume is available from Demeter Fragrances: Funeral Home.
This scent actually started out to be Flower Show. Now our founding perfumer personally did NOT like most white flowers so this was a tough fragrance for him to develop. When a friend first smelled this one and exclaimed: “it smells like my Grandfather's funeral... call it Funeral Home!”, so we did.
Most customers seem to approve of the scent. Disturbingly so:
I definitely get the lilies coming thru on this one with just a slight hint of death underneath...
To my nose I get a very slight hint of formaldehyde which quite accurately depicts a scent one might find in a real funeral home. Amazing!
However, one reviewer found it too Gothic:
I found it highly unpleasant. I was expecting a lot of woody mahogany notes, a lot of white floral, and maybe some dust. All I really ever got from it was the dust. It almost smelled like a mixture of dirt, dust, and mold. And not in a good way. It was a very strong, almost punch you in the face scent. I'm a fan of ominous, mysterious scents. This one just came off as dirty.
