People found nine brains along a railroad in upstate New York. The idea suggests horror, or mad science, or an art project, or an expression of what New York City thinks upstate needs, doesn't it?
One local took this in with a Gothic eye:
Clover Forsythe, who lives nearby, said a neighbor found the scene reminiscent of “The Island of Dr. Moreau” while walking her dogs.
They (the brains, not Forsythe's dogs) are apparently animal brains, most likely from dogs or sheep, and preserved for medical mad science. As Syracuse.com helpfully notes, "police told both news outlets there was little to fear... mishaps with preserved brains do happen."
Nine Brains on the Ground would be a nice name for a band. You're welcome.
